No e-reader at hand?
Where do I find the file?
Kobo
- Connect the Kobo to a computer with a USB cable and tap Connect.
- Open the KOBOeReader drive and the hidden
.kobofolder. On a Mac press Cmd+Shift+. to show it; on Windows, View → Show → Hidden items. - Copy
KoboReader.sqliteand drop the copy here.
Kobo stores the time spent per book, not per day, so the calendar and streaks need KOReader.
KOReader
- Open the
settingsfolder of KOReader on the device. - On a Kobo it is
.adds/koreader/settings/; on Android,koreader/settings/. - Copy
statistics.sqlite3and drop the copy here.

Questions
Is my reading history uploaded anywhere?
No. The database is opened by your browser on your device. readrecap has no server, no login and no analytics; the source code is on GitHub.
How does it know when I finished a KOReader book?
KOReader's statistics do not record it, so a book counts as finished on the day you first read its last pages (the last 2%, at least the last two pages).
Why is the calendar missing for my Kobo?
The Kobo database keeps the total time per book, not the days you read it. Finished books, time and highlights still work; for the calendar, streaks and hours of the day, read with KOReader.
Can I use both files?
Yes. Select both: books read in both apps are merged by title and author.
