How do I get the export?
- On spotify.com, open Account → Privacy settings.
- Under Download your data, tick Account data and request it.
- Confirm the email. A link to the ZIP arrives, usually within a few days.
2 Where should they go?
Every selected playlist as one CSV (playlist, title, artist, album, Spotify URI). Most transfer tools and spreadsheets import it.

Questions
Why not use the Spotify API like other tools?
Since February 2026, new Spotify developer apps are limited to five users and need a Premium owner, which broke most free transfer tools. The data export is available to every account, free or Premium, and keeps working.
Does my password go anywhere?
Only to your own music server, straight from your browser. songlift has no server of its own, stores nothing and has no analytics. Subsonic servers receive a salted token instead of the password.
Why does my http:// server not work?
This page is HTTPS, and browsers block HTTPS pages from calling plain HTTP addresses. Reach your server over HTTPS, or use the music folder option, which needs no server at all.
How does it decide a song is the same?
The export has title, artist and album, but no duration or ISRC. Titles are compared without decorations like “- Remastered 2011” or “(feat. …)”, then the artist and album are checked. Same title by another artist is shown as “maybe” so you decide.
Will it download the missing songs?
No. It gives you a CSV of what your library is missing, so you know what to buy or rip.
